Our Story

 
Food-in-Balance had been waiting for the Right Time. The concept had been floating about in my head, growing and morphing, for years. The end of 2019 finally saw me start to pull some of the ideas together and make a start on the Food-in-Balance Garden. This led to me rummaging around in the shed, pulling out leftover seeds from previous years that would be 'worth a try', buying new seeds, and starting to research planting and growing.

At the beginning of 2020, I signed up to do the online Milkwood 'Permaculture Living' course - which started the week before the UK Covid-19 lockdown. At this point I already had over 80 chilli seedlings sprouting in pots in the downstairs of our house and was working on ideas for the Food-in-Balance Vegan Kitchen and Food-in-Balance Bakery. The course nudged me to proceed. In fact, those times highlighted, more than ever, that this was THE time.

Following a successful couple of years, we took an 18 month break after housing a Ukrainian family under the Homes for Ukraine scheme. Now, in 2024, we have reopened and are offering you our popular products again.
