Vegan Kitchen

The Food-in-Balance Vegan Kitchen is being developed in conjunction with our Permaculture Food-in-Balance Garden. It will be part of the next phase of project development, but has been slower getting off the ground than intended due to the rapid growth of the Food-in-Balance Bakery. The garden was in its very early stages in 2020, developed further in 2021 and underwent a slight reorganisation in 2022, when the Ukrainian grandad who was living with us helped enormously with our production. In the first two years, preserves were made from home harvested fruit and were very popular with our customers. In 2021, we did 'Four Weeks of Vegan Soups' in January, which proved very popular. We have lots of ideas of projects we would like to develop but the growth of the bakery has taken precedence for now. Keep an eye on our Instagram account for developments....

Never tried Vegan?

I will be upfront and state that we are not a vegan household. However, I do have a passion for plant-based food. Contrary to what many people believe, plant-based foods can be so flavourful and exciting. I was unsure whether to make the Food-in-Balance menu solely vegan but decided to take a leap of faith in order to challenge pre-conceptions and encourage people to give it a try.

Please note, not all products in the Food-in-Balance Bakery are vegan.
